Description
Some of the best recipes have almost nothing in them. This Baked Peaches Recipe turns ripe fresh peaches into a warm, glossy, naturally sweet dessert with honey, butter, cinnamon, and crunchy pecans.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe peaches, halved and pitted
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- Vanilla yogurt or ice cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Halve the peaches and remove the pits.
- Place the peach halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
- Drizzle each peach half with honey.
- Place a small piece of butter on each peach half.
- Sprinkle cinnamon over the peaches.
- Scatter the chopped pecans over the top of each peach half.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the peaches are soft and tender when pierced with a fork.
- Check that the honey is caramelized around the edges and the pecans are toasted.
- Serve warm with vanilla yogurt or vanilla ice cream spooned into the center of each peach half.
Notes
Use ripe but still slightly firm peaches so they soften without falling apart. The butter melts into the honey and fruit juices, creating a glossy caramel-like sauce that is delicious spooned over the top.
