- 1 cup butter, softened
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Black royal icing (for decorating)
- Mini red and brown M&Ms (for the nose)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat for about four minutes, until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg, then add flour and salt. Beat until a soft dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two disks, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for two hours.
- Roll the dough out to ¼ inch thickness and use a round 3-inch cookie cutter.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 7–8 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool for five minutes.
- Pipe two black icing dots for eyes, draw antlers, and attach a red M&M for the nose.
