Description

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Pulled Pork is sweet, savory, and unbelievably tender—perfect for sandwiches, tacos, or rice bowls. This hands-off meal is made with simple pantry staples and simmers to perfection in your slow cooker, making dinner effortless and comforting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 lbs pork shoulder, trimmed and cut into chunks
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional Add-ins:
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • Splash of orange juice

Instructions

  1. Season pork shoulder chunks with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, smoked paprika, and onion powder.
  3. Add pork to the slow cooker and pour sauce over the top. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours.
  4. Once pork is fork-tender, shred with two forks directly in the slow cooker and stir into the sauce.
  5. Let rest for 10 minutes in the sauce before serving.
  6. Serve over rice, in tacos, or on sandwich buns with slaw.

Notes

This recipe is freezer-friendly and perfect for meal prep. Make a double batch, store in airtight containers, and freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat gently with a splash of broth. For a spicy twist, add chili flakes or sriracha. For a tangy version, sub in BBQ sauce for the ketchup.
