Ingredients
- 3 lbs pork shoulder, trimmed and cut into chunks
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Optional Add-ins:
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- Splash of orange juice
Instructions
- Season pork shoulder chunks with salt and black pepper.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, smoked paprika, and onion powder.
- Add pork to the slow cooker and pour sauce over the top. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours.
- Once pork is fork-tender, shred with two forks directly in the slow cooker and stir into the sauce.
- Let rest for 10 minutes in the sauce before serving.
- Serve over rice, in tacos, or on sandwich buns with slaw.
