Description
These Rice Krispie Turkey Legs are a fun, festive Thanksgiving treat made with Cocoa Krispies, marshmallows, and pretzel rods to look just like mini turkey drumsticks. They’re easy to make, super kid-friendly, and perfect for holiday dessert tables.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 pretzel rods, cut in half
- 10 ounces vanilla melting wafers
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 12 ounces mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 8 cups Cocoa Krispies cereal
- Nonstick cooking spray or gloves for shaping
Instructions
- Melt the vanilla wafers in a microwave-safe bowl on low or defrost setting, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Dip one end of each pretzel rod half into the melted candy, press two mini marshmallows onto the end, and chill on parchment paper for 5 minutes.
- Re-dip marshmallow ends in melted candy coating to fully cover and chill again for 5 minutes until set.
- In a large pot, melt butter over low heat, add the remaining marshmallows, and stir until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and salt, then fold in Cocoa Krispies until evenly coated.
- Let the mixture cool 5–10 minutes. Take about 2/3 cup and shape it around each pretzel bone to resemble a drumstick.
- Use nonstick spray or gloves for easier shaping. Let set on parchment for 10–20 minutes before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Avoid refrigerating for long periods, as it can affect the texture. Great make-ahead option for Thanksgiving dessert tables!
