Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and red food coloring.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Set up two bowls: one with granulated sugar and one with powdered sugar.
- Scoop dough into balls, roll in granulated sugar, then coat with powdered sugar.
- Bake for 10 minutes until cookies puff and crack but remain soft in the center.
- Cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
