Description

Soft, chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars made in one bowl with simple pantry ingredients. These rich dessert bars are full of peanut butter flavor and loaded with chocolate chips in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Line an 8×8 inch pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.
  3. Melt the butter in a large microwave safe bowl.
  4. Let the butter cool briefly.
  5. Whisk in the peanut butter, egg, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Stir in the flour and salt until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  9. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
  10. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the center is set.
  11. Cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing into bars.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter once the flour is added. Remove the bars from the oven when the center is just set to keep them soft and chewy.
