- 500g (4 cups) flour
- 250g (1 cup + 2 tbsp) butter, cold
- 7g (2 ¼ tsp) yeast, active dry or instant
- 50g (¼ cup) sugar
- 10g (2 tsp) salt
- 120ml (½ cup) lukewarm milk
- 120ml (½ cup) lukewarm water
Instructions
- Combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Gradually add lukewarm milk and water to form a rough dough.
- Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rise for 1-1.5 hours.
- Roll dough into a large rectangle and fold cold butter in an envelope fold. Repeat this 3 times with chilling in between.
- Cut the dough into triangles and roll them into crescent shapes.
- Proof for 30-45 minutes, then bake at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Ensure your butter stays cold during the lamination process to achieve flaky layers.
