- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1¼ cups brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 25 large marshmallows, cut in half
- 2 cups powdered sugar (for icing)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for icing)
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for icing)
- ¼ cup hot water (for icing)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions
- Melt the butter and chocolate together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add cooled chocolate mixture.
- Mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
- Scoop and slightly flatten dough. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12 minutes.
- Press a halved marshmallow onto each cookie and bake for 2–3 more minutes.
- Prepare icing by mixing powdered sugar, melted butter, cocoa powder, hot water, and vanilla extract.
- Spoon icing onto cooled cookies and top with sprinkles before it sets.
Notes
For best texture, don’t skip chilling the dough. Add the icing after cookies have cooled to avoid it sliding off the marshmallow.
