For the Cupcakes
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Frosting
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Topping
- 1 cup holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with festive liners.
- Make Batter: Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Mix in vanilla. Whisk dry ingredients in another bowl. Alternate adding dry mixture and milk to the batter, beginning and ending with dry.
- Bake: Divide batter into liners (2/3 full). Bake for 18–20 minutes. Cool 5 minutes in pan, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
- Frosting: Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar. Add heavy cream and beat until fluffy. Mix in vanilla.
- Decorate: Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and top with sprinkles.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients and avoid overmixing for the fluffiest cupcakes. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or 5 days in the fridge.
