- 5 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 8 tablespoons salted butter, softened
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place peeled and chopped potatoes in a large pot. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil over high heat. Cook for 10–14 minutes until fork-tender.
- Drain the potatoes and return to the pot. Let sit for a couple of minutes to release steam.
- Add butter, cream cheese, and warm heavy cream to the hot potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
- Transfer to a serving bowl. Optional: drizzle with melted butter or top with chopped chives before serving.

Warm the cream before adding for extra smoothness. For a variation, add roasted garlic, cheddar cheese, or fresh herbs like chives or parsley.
