Description

These Creamy Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes are smooth, buttery, and velvety — the perfect cozy side dish for any meal or celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 8 tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place peeled and chopped potatoes in a large pot. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil over high heat. Cook for 10–14 minutes until fork-tender.
  2. Drain the potatoes and return to the pot. Let sit for a couple of minutes to release steam.
  3. Add butter, cream cheese, and warm heavy cream to the hot potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl. Optional: drizzle with melted butter or top with chopped chives before serving.

Notes

Warm the cream before adding for extra smoothness. For a variation, add roasted garlic, cheddar cheese, or fresh herbs like chives or parsley.
