- 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup coleslaw mix
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add the shredded chicken and barbecue sauce to a large bowl.
- Mix until the chicken is evenly coated and saucy.
- Slice the slider buns in half horizontally.
- Place the bottom halves of the buns on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread the BBQ chicken evenly over the bun bottoms.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken.
- Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese.
- Brush the tops with melted butter.
- Sprinkle with garlic powder and black pepper.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the buns are golden.
- Remove from the oven.
- Top each slider with a spoonful of coleslaw mix.
- Serve right away while warm and melty.
Notes
Use rotisserie chicken for the easiest shortcut. Keep the coleslaw cold until serving so it stays crisp. For extra heat, stir a little hot sauce or cayenne into the barbecue sauce before mixing it with the chicken.
