Description

These Air Fryer Apple Fritters are the perfect cozy treat — crispy on the outside, soft and spiced on the inside, and finished with a glossy vanilla glaze. You get all the bakery-style texture without deep frying. Whether it’s a weekend brunch or an after-dinner dessert, these fritters are easy, fast, and full of warm fall flavor. Plus, they’re air-fried for less mess and quicker cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Batter:
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • â…“ cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped (about 2 ¾ cups)
  • Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk milk, eggs, vanilla, and lemon juice.
  3. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients. Add melted butter. Stir gently until just combined.
  4. Fold in chopped apples until evenly distributed.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F if needed. Line basket with parchment paper and mist with nonstick spray.
  6. Scoop ¼ cup mounds of batter into basket (about 4 at a time). Air fry for 8 minutes, flip, and cook 3 more minutes. Transfer to a wire rack.
  7. Repeat with remaining batter.
  8. To make glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and melted butter until smooth.
  9. Dip tops of warm fritters in glaze and let excess drip off. Let set before serving.

Notes

Use Granny Smith for tart flavor or mix with a sweeter apple like Honeycrisp. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Glaze fritters while warm for a smooth finish. Eat the same day or reheat in the air fryer for 3–4 minutes to refresh. For extra spice, add a pinch of nutmeg.
